Hugh Nalder (B Bus, Acct) – Non-executive Director

Hugh NalderHugh was appointed as a non-executive director and consultant of Ray White Invest in September 2006. In his capacity as director he is also the Compliance Director, in which capacity he is also a member of the External Compliance Committee and an alternate member of the Investment Committee.  Hugh was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers from July 1986 until his retirement from the firm in February 2006. Hugh has extensive leadership and advisory experience. He led the Taxation Services practice for PricewaterhouseCoopers Brisbane office up to December 2004 when he stepped down.

Up to 30 June 2004 he had National responsibility for the tax Business Units involvement in the Resources, Services and Government Industry Groups. This was a leadership role focused on shaping and developing the firm’s market facing activities in each of the industry sectors. Prior to 1 July 2000 he led the firm’s Mining & Petroleum Industry Group in South East Queensland.

Hugh has also participated on various firm committees and working groups dealing with policy and governance issues, and the firm’s focus on achieving culture change across the organisation. Hugh has extensive experience in corporate taxation, Mergers and Acquisitions and Strategy Development, within the property, agriculture and energy and mining sectors.  Hugh is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, Fellow of the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants, Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Hugh is a member of the Governing Council of the Queensland University of Technology (“QUT”) and is chairman of QUT Bluebox Pty Ltd, which is responsible for the commercialisation of the University’s intellectual property. He has also consulted on strategic and governance matters to emerging enterprises in various sectors. Hugh is also a Director of Queensland Rugby Club Inc.
